Where to Buy American Gasoline...

Fuel Economy
Are you aware that the Saudis are boycotting American products? In addition, they are gouging us on oil prices.

Shouldn't we return the favor?  Can't we take control of our own destiny and let these giant oil importers know who really generates their profits?  How about leaving American dollars in America and reduce the import/export deficit?

An appealing remedy might be to boycott their gas. Every time you fill up your car you can avoid putting more money into the coffers of the Middle East. Just purchase gas from companies that do not import their oil from the Middle East. Nothing is more frustrating than the feeling that every time you fill your tank, you are sending money to people who do not have our best interests in mind.
  • The following companies import Middle Eastern oil:  Shell, Chevron/Texaco, Exxon/Mobil, and Marathon/Speedway. Citgo Oil is imported from Venezuela by Dictator Hugo Chavez who hates America and openly vows our economic destruction.
The United States currently imports 5,517,000 barrels of crude oil per day from OPEC. If you do the math at $100 per barrel, that is over $550 million per day or $200 billion per year handed over to OPEC. The worst part is many OPEC members are considered our enemies.
  • The following companies do not import Middle Eastern oil:  Sunoco, Conoco, Sinclair, BP/Phillips, Hess, ARCO, Maverick, Flying J, Valero, Murphy Oil USA, and Walmart.

All of this information is available from the U.S. Department of Energy.  Each company is required to state where they get their oil and how much they are importing.

If we work together and spread the news we can decrease our dependancy on foreign oil. Definitely food for thought.

Couple takes possession of first Hydrogen Fuel Cell Car - FCX Clarity

On July 25, a Southern California couple took delivery of their hydrogen fuel cell powered Honda FCX Clarity from Honda of Santa Monica. The couple is the first of approximately 200 customers who will lease the vehicle in the United States and Japan over the next three years, with the vast majority of vehicles being leased in Southern California.  The FCX Clarity is actually the second hydrogen fuel cell vehicle for lease in California by American Honda.

The fuel cell combines hydrogen with oxygen to make electricity. The electricity then powers the electric motor, which in turn propels the vehicle. Water is the only byproduct the FCX Clarity leaves behind. Estimated fuel economy is 74 mpg GGE (miles per gasoline gallon equivalent) and driving range up to 280 miles.
